What makes a good headshot for a pitch deck?
Clean, professional, and shot against a background that falls away — outdoors that means open park or a leafy street thrown out of focus behind you. The image should work well on dark slides (most pitch decks have dark backgrounds). Head and shoulders, confident expression, clear focus on your face. If your deck template needs a plain white background, we can bring a portable backdrop outdoors and shoot you against it in natural light.
Should I look serious or smile in my founder headshot?
Smile naturally and look confident. Investors want to see a professional who's approachable and real. A natural smile builds more connection than a stern expression.
Can we shoot our entire founding team in one session?
Yes. Team days are quoted individually rather than sold at a per-head rate — send your head count and target weekend through the contact page. Everyone gets shot at the same outdoor location on the same morning, so the team page stays visually consistent.
Where and when do you shoot?
Outdoors, in natural light, on Saturdays and Sundays only — there's no indoor studio. Sessions happen in Riverdale and Van Cortlandt Park, The Bronx, about 15 minutes from Midtown on the 1 train, plus lower Westchester (Yonkers, Bronxville, Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Scarsdale, Pelham, Mount Vernon). Book at least 7 days out; rain reschedules free, so a fundraise timeline needs a little runway.
Do you work with remote/distributed teams?
If your team is in town for a weekend, absolutely — we can coordinate a group shoot at one outdoor location. For distributed teams, founders usually book individual sessions on separate weekends.
What format do I need for YC applications or pitch deck software?
We deliver high-resolution JPGs and PNGs in multiple aspect ratios (portrait, square, landscape). Works great in Pitch.com, Figma decks, or PowerPoint.
Can you help with styling or wardrobe advice?
Yes. Pre-session, we'll email you a style guide. You can also discuss your vibe (casual, professional, in-between) and we'll guide your outfit choices on shoot day.
